Frequently Asked Questions

Can I take the course at my own pace?

Absolute! Every week of the first month you will receive an email with an invitation to tackle the next module. After two months you will have completed the 8 modules. It's nice to walk in the same rhythm as other people. However, this is not a must. Everything always remains available so that you can also take classes at a different time. You do it completely at your own pace, because the course remains available to you for a year. A new course starts every three months, so there are always new members starting up. Then you can easily join the live sessions again. If you want to stay a little longer after a year, that is certainly possible.

Can my partner participate for free?

Yes of course! It's a lot of fun to do this together. You can get a login for everyone who lives at your address.

I have a busy schedule. Will I have enough time for this course?

Absolute! Busy busy busy, we know it. That is one of the reasons why we chose a course with access to 12 months with a weekly time commitment of only 2 hours to a maximum of 4 hours (for larger gardens). Because we all have little time sometimes. Two hours per week is a guideline. Then you will have your garden plan in your hands in 2 months. You choose how much time you put into it. That is for the first months in which you go through the 8 modules. There is regularly an Online Meeting in Zoom that lasts an hour. But you choose where you are everywhere. You can always watch it again afterwards with the Replay. You have plenty of time.

I haven't held crayons since primary school, can I still design my garden?

I have made the wonderful discovery that anyone, yes ANYONE, who wants to, can design his or her garden. If you feel a spark of 'desire' to get started yourself, even if you have to cross a hurdle to do so, I would be happy to help you with that. Because you will notice, as so many others discovered before you, that something truly wonderful is going to happen. You will be so happy that you did it yourself, it will somehow empower you and also your garden. And that's what it's about. A powerful garden the way you want it, the way you like to see it. So feel for yourself whether that (small) spark of 'desire' is there to get started. Well, you don't have to hesitate anymore! Just do it!

Do I get my money back if I am not satisfied?

Displeased? Money Back!

I am confident that you will get tremendous value for the investment you make in this course. Because I am so sure of this, I also do this 'Not satisfied? Money Back!' Guarantee. If you indicate that you are not satisfied within the first two weeks of purchasing the course, you will receive a full refund of the amount you paid. No questions asked. So you can try this course with confidence.

I haven't been active on Facebook for a while. This is a conscious choice. Is it only possible to ask questions via Facebook?

No, I understand the choice to stay away from FB. I encourage you to ask all your questions in the Community. This is part of the Online Course that you get access to when you purchase the course.

The monthly meeting takes place in Zoom, so it is not tied to FB. You can always ask your questions in advance and I will take them with you. Or during the meeting itself.

It is nice to be there in the group/community with the same kinds of questions, and it is also inspiring to read how others tackle their garden, but you can really do it without that group. That works perfectly! You do it the way it feels right for you!

Let us know what your questions are! Via the route that appeals to you! I'd love to hear from you!

When does this online course start?

This online course will start every month for the time being (at this launch), always on or around the new moon, because that is a naturally suitable time to start something new. We complete the 8 modules in two months.

For me , the moon cycle is a natural cycle (a period of 28 days) during which you can achieve a lot, but at the same time it is not too long. That is also something I would like to explain to you as an extra , because it is now just part of my way of working, also in my daily life.

All modules are and will remain available to you for 1 year. So you have plenty of time (a year!) to complete the online garden design course, so you can do it again and again until your garden plan is completely right. It is really my intention that you can take this course at your own pace. I only regularly give you inspiration and ideas to get started with so that you keep moving.

The course content is continuously supplemented with new tips and interesting lists that can help you on your way. In the meantime, the course already contains 30 interesting plant lists that are very practically useful, and more are added every month.

You also get access to a 'Learning Network' of information about materials and how you can make things yourself. This information is constantly growing with the questions I receive from customers and other interesting topics that you can also introduce yourself.

Where does the course take place?

The course takes place on our own online platform. When you register, you automatically create your account. You will receive all other information a while before the course starts. You will also receive a starter package by post , because I think it would be nice to have the course tangible on paper.

In addition, Tuinen in Beweging also organizes garden visits, co-creation afternoons and workshops that you can join without obligation if you wish. You will receive all this information once you are in the Online Garden Design Atelier.

Can my children also think about our garden?

It is certainly an added value to complete this course together with all the residents of your garden. Your children can also draw up their wishes for the garden. The more residents are involved in this plan, the more supported the design is. Nice! I will also give you tips for this once you are in the Online Garden Design Atelier.

Can I get an invoice for my company?

Certainly! You can enter your VAT number and the details of your company when registering. You will then immediately receive the invoice via PDF. If you have another request, please send me an email at info@tuineninbeweging.be.

Which formula suits me best?

If you are unsure between the online course and the workshop, this explanation may help you decide.

You can take the online course at your own pace, as fast or as slow as you want. I will send you accompanying emails that will guide you through the 8 modules in 2 months. If you want, your garden plan is ready. Then you still have 10 months to refine it further. I will also send you further emails for this purpose. The amount of time you need is of course very individual, but I hear that you need between 2 to 4 hours per module to fully complete it. With 4 hours you certainly worked it out in detail, I think. But of course that also depends on the size of the garden, what your garden looks like now, what elements you want in your garden, etc.

We start the next online course every month on the new moon. So you can join the online course relatively quickly and start your garden design.

What you don't have (unlike the workshop) is the 'live' fun of coming together in my living room and thinking together about what is possible, but I also try to create that online in the community, where you can ask all your questions. about your garden with photos and your design, on which I and others can give their ideas. This way we can inspire each other.

The workshop continues every season. I can tell you that with the Online Atelier Garden Design you will be able to store more information because it is spread over 12 months.

Once you are in the Online Garden Design Atelier, you can easily join a workshop at a super affordable price. We also organize co-creation afternoons that you can join without obligation to shape and flesh out the garden together.

Is an ecological garden always more casual than a classic garden?

I am regularly asked whether an ecological garden is a wild garden.

I would be happy to answer that because it is something that is very close to my heart!

It is a big misunderstanding that ecological gardens are necessarily wild gardens or look unkempt. An ecological garden can just as well be very well cared for!

Or that cliché that an ecological garden must be a wild nature garden where plants and animals have priority over the people who live in them. Your garden still remains that piece of earth that you can create your own paradise to enjoy to the fullest.

It is my personal mission to clear up that misunderstanding, so I am very happy when a new customer asks about it! Because then I can explain how I see that!

It often bothers me enormously that people who do not feel like putting their garden in 'order' simply stick the term 'ecological' to it. Which happens far too often for my liking!

I would like to design ecological gardens that are on a higher level, as a place full of beauty where you can relax. I can enjoy beauty, both from plants, but equally from the beautiful design of architecture. But also in gardens it can just as well become an architectural gem due to the beautiful design and lines, just like some beautiful houses, so that it is called 'art'.

Without ending up in the blazé atmosphere again. A garden is not for exercising (in my opinion). A garden is meant to be enjoyed. But if you like beautiful lines (just like me) then isn't it wonderful to see them in your garden?

That's why I always try to draw strong lines in the design, often based on the golden ratio, which I love.

I'll show you some of my recent designs in the link below to give you an idea, maybe that will give you an idea of what I mean. That's what I try to teach you in the course. It's nice to see how anyone can do this, with a few tips and tricks and bringing out the artist within yourself. I see it happen again and again in workshops and also in the online course . Wonderful to see!

The degree of care and the ecological content of the garden are completely separate.

In fact, you wouldn't immediately be able to tell from an ecological garden that it is ecological, because it can look at least as well-kept as a classic garden, unless you look a little closer and understand the principles that I teach you in the lessons (keeping the soil covered, layering , no chemical pesticides of course, but you don't always see that, interesting plants for bees, variation in species and height, ...). You learn to cooperate with nature in your garden, which makes it much easier and more pleasant.

And of course it is often not feasible or necessary to keep everything super tidy. I certainly find 'weeds' tolerable in certain places. I also think 'wild' is beautiful, but only in certain places and where I really intended it. I often like to take care of it close to home and further away it can be less strict or less intensive (e.g. fewer flower borders). The contrast between a neatly trimmed hedge and a wildly growing shrub can also be very beautiful. Or the contrast between a beautiful short mowed lawn path with some beautifully designed strips of longer grass here and there. That is 'intendedly wild' and I think that is very beautiful.

It is very personal how much time you want to spend on your garden and also depends on the size of your garden, the phase of life you are in (which can therefore change), and so many other things. It is therefore important to adapt the planting to this and the intensity of the 'maintenance' or management of the garden to the time you can and want to spend in your garden. Above all, it should remain enjoyable to stay in your garden. We should certainly avoid becoming 'slaves' to our garden, that cannot be the intention of our garden at all. Then it is better to choose other forms of greenery that are less intensive in terms of maintenance and which therefore make it feasible to keep it beautiful.

Can I get additional feedback on my design?

Of course! You can book an online (zoom) garden coaching session with Sofie for €97. We will then take 60 minutes to answer all your questions, adjust your design together where necessary, complete the plant plan, etc.

In addition, you can safely ask all your questions about your design and other questions in the Community where we help each other with each other's gardens in a pleasant and positive way.

If you would like a second or third online meeting to discuss your design, you can easily book this. You choose how much extra guidance you need.
